Several persons are in custody after the Customs Anti-Narcotic Unit (CANU) found three plastic bags containing several small packs of cannabis in an abandoned building at Sisters Village, West Bank Demerara.
According to a CANU release, officers conducted an operation in the area on Tuesday.
When the suspected narcotics were found, they were taken to CANU Headquarters. There, the narcotics were weighed and tested. It was confirmed that the drugs found were cannabis, weighing 117.5 grammes.
Investigations continue.
