Third suspect arrested for robbery at Lusignan Chinese Supermarket

A team of detectives from Regional Division 4C and 4A, led by Deputy Commander 4C, Mr Dufu, resulted in the arrest of another suspect in the armed robbery carried out at a Chinese-owned supermarket at Lusignan, East Coast Demerara earlier in the week.

Police Headquarters reported that Akeem Griffith, of Sussex Street, Georgetown, was nabbed on Friday.

The Police also recovered a motorcycle used in the robbery. Griffith is the third suspect to be arrested in relation to the armed robbery.

The bandits escaped on motorcycles following the armed robbery

Ryan Goodluck, a 29-year-old vendor of Herstelling Housing Scheme, East Bank Demerara and  Jamal Seymour, a 25-year-mason of Sussex Street, Georgetown were arrested on Wednesday night.

The crime was committed by four persons who stormed the facility and carted off with an undisclosed amount of cash and a quantity of phone cards.

The robbery occurred at around 19:34 hrs on August 29, 2023, at the Hong Yuang Supermarket. The incident was captured on CCTV cameras.

    Motor vehicular accidents have reached endemic proportions and is therefore a serious public health issue.
    which must be taken on board by all agencies including the private sector,civic society ,religious groups .
