Atlantis Cuisine, a new rooftop restaurant, opens at the West Central Mall at Leonora, West Coast Demerara, this Friday, promising to elevate the dining experience in Region Three and the country as whole.
The unique underwater-themed restaurant held its soft opening ceremony on Tuesday evening with special invitees, including the British High Commissioner Jane Miller, in attendance.
Newcomer to the restaurant business and the Mall’s director, Bhabita Albert, said the theme of the restaurant is a play on the mythical Atlantis, the lost underwater city often depicted in movies.
“Our goal was to bring our international travel experiences to home,” Albert said.
The restaurant is a signature feature of the mall, which opens at the end of the month. It will feature Italian, Thai, Caribbean, halaal and vegetarian cuisines.
The outdoor deck boasts an incredible view of Leonora, a fast developing community on the West Demerara.
Birthdays, anniversaries and other special occasions can be celebrated at the restaurant because it caters to special reservations and the chefs are ready to prepare tantalizing dishes as requested, according to Albert.
She told the News Room that overall, the restaurant offers a dining experience unlike anything offered in Guyana.
