A 34-year-old driver was arrested by the Police for possession of an illegal firearm, which he allegedly used to threaten the mother of his children.
He allegedly sent a photograph of a handgun to the mother of his children and threatened to kill her.
Police Headquarters said that ranks, acting on information received, contacted the suspect, Lewis Cort, a resident of Line Path, Corentyne, Berbice.
Cort was invited to the Central Police station where he was questioned about the firearm.
“During the interview, Cort said he had the firearm at home, and that a friend gave it to him and went to Suriname,” Police Headquarters noted.
As a result, ranks went to Cort’s home where the handgun along with five .32 rounds of ammunition were found.
Cort remains in custody as the investigation continues.
The Police ARRESTED the suspect, then, he was INVITED to the Central Police Station ?
