Kwesi Griffith, a 42-year-old motorcyclist of Block ‘X’ Liliendaal, East Coast Demerara, died in an accident that occurred at around 11:56 hrs Sunday night at the intersection of Sheriff Street and Rupert Craig Highway in Georgetown.
The accident involved motor car #PAB 5158, driven by a 25-year-old resident of Canvas City Wismar, Linden and Griffith’s motorcycle bearing registration #CK 7323.
According to a statement from Police Headquarters, the driver of motor car PAB 5158 was proceeding along the southern carriageway on Rupert Craig Highway at a fast rate with the ‘Green Traffic Light’ in his direction, while Griffith was proceeding East along the northern carriageway of the road with the ‘Red Traffic Light’ signal in his direction.
As both drivers approached the junction of Rupert Craig Highway and Sheriff Street, the motorcyclist breached the traffic light signal and turned right onto Sheriff Street into the path of the driver of motorcar PAB 5158. As a result of this, the left side front portion of the car came into contact with the motorcyclist who was flung some distance into the air, and then onto the road surface, where he received injuries about his body.
The ambulance service was summoned and Dr. Kellman from the Georgetown Public Hospital pronounced the driver dead at the accident scene.
A breathalyzer test was conducted on the driver of the car and no trace of alcohol was found on his breath. A Notice of Intended Prosecution was prepared in duplicate and the original was served on the driver.

What would be the charge against the driver of the car? Failing to know that the biker was going to breach a red light?

Stupidity exists because some can’t help being classified as stupid.
Motorcyclist ran the RED SIGNAL, into the CAR with a GREEN SIGNAL- RIGHT ?
How fast the CAR was SPEEDING ? If exceeds the POSTED SPEED LIMIT, then must be issued a ticket, once cameras caught the action.
One more driver is eliminated from the roads forever.
