The Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) youth development drive received a massive boost at the weekend with Vibrant Capital Partners Inc., a USA-based company making a significant contribution of US$10,000.

Technocrat Member of the Board Anil Beharry underscored the importance of such partnerships after he received the sponsorship from Anita Kallicharran,  a high-ranking official of the entity and the wife of former Guyana and West Indies ‘B’ all-rounder Derek Kallicharran.

Vibrant Capital Partners Inc., a company that provides investment services, is located in New York.

It is owned by active partners and employees and is specialised in structured credit and syndicated credit, including CLO management.

Anita Kallicharran, Director of Syndicated Credit Operations, said the company was impressed by the progress cricket has been making in Guyana, hence the inclination to support.

“I’m very impressed by what I’m seeing and I look forward to a continued relationship, and a mentorship programme as necessary,” Kallicharran noted.

Beharry, who has responsibility for Governance, Marketing and Finance at the GCB, welcomed the entity onboard, noting that part of the sponsorship will go towards outfitting the national Under-19 team.

The logo of Vibrant Capital Partners Inc. will be prominently displayed on the uniform, Beharry announced.

“We are very for this. As I have been saying, we’re trying to market ourselves and we hope to get the support of corporate Guyana, those outside of Guyana as well as private individuals,” Beharry reasoned.

The long-standing cricket administrator made a commitment to Kallicharran, and by extension Vibrant Capital Partners Inc., that the funds will be utilised for its intended purpose, that is the growth and development of the country’s young cricket talents.

Earlier this year, the Guyana Cricket Board also received corporate support from oil and gas company OES Guyana and the Regal Group, both contributing G$400,000 each towards youth cricket development in the country.
