A taxi driver who was last week charged with stealing car parts opted to compensate the victim with $125,000.
Joseph Juman, called ‘Bird’, on Friday last, appeared before Magistrate Ruschell Liverpool at the Sparendaam Magistrate’s Court where he was charged with simple larceny.
The 21-year-old man from Success, East Coast Demerara, admitted that on February 25, he stole a pair of rearview mirrors valued at $70,000 and a ‘crown grill’ valued at $55,000, property of Ghansham Laljie.
He was arrested on March 06.
He pleaded guilty and agreed to compensate the victim a sum of $125,000. He was released on self-bail.
