A 47-year-old labourer of Crabwood Creek, Corentyne Berbice, died Thursday morning after a concrete structure collapsed on him while working.
The News Room was informed that Ragunandan Singh, also known as “Roy,” left home around 6:30 hrs to work on a house, a stone’s throw away.
According to information gathered, at 8:30 hrs, while Roy was breaking a concrete wall from an abandoned house, a solid piece of floor measuring about 10 feet by 12 feet, fell and he was pinned, causing him to receive multiple injuries to his body.
Roy was picked up and quickly transported to the Skeldon Public Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
A post-mortem examination is expected to be performed on his body to determine the cause of death.
An investigation is ongoing.
