The Customs Anti-Narcotic Unit (CANU) has issued an urgent warning regarding a potentially dangerous substance that could be circulating, especially within school environments.
The substance, known as “Strawberry Quick,” has raised concerns due to its resemblance to candy and its potentially harmful effects.
“Strawberry Quick” appears like a strawberry-flavoured pop rock candy that sizzles and pops when consumed. It also has a strawberry scent, making it difficult to distinguish from regular candy. However, this substance is suspected to contain Methamphetamine, a powerful and harmful drug that poses serious health risks.
How to Protect Yourself and Others
- Stay Informed: CANU urges the public to remain vigilant and keep updated on any further information regarding this issue.
- Report Suspicious Activity: If you encounter this substance or witness anyone distributing it, it is crucial to report it to law enforcement. Parents, teachers, and principals are also encouraged to act by contacting the police or CANU directly.
- Educate Children: Parents are advised to talk to their children, warning them not to accept candy from strangers. They should also be cautious even if the candy comes from a friend, as they may not realize it is dangerous.
