Former Attorney General, Anil Nandlall was today (Monday, April 24, 2017) called in and questioned by ranks of the Special Organized Crime Unit (SOCU) in connection with law books acquired during his term in office.

Also present at the SOCU headquarters was Opposition Member of Parliament, Priya Manickchand who noted that the Government is flexing its muscle. She says “every time (Anil) Nandlall speaks about the AG, Basil (Williams) always saying ‘I will lock you up’ and that is what happened today.”

She said that Nandlal is being arrested about something he did some three years ago.

Nandlall a few weeks ago filed legal action against current Attorney General and Minister of Legal Affairs, Basil Williams seeking approximately $125M in damages from Attorney General, Basil Williams for “slander”, in relation to the Commonwealth Law Reports which Williams repeatedly claimed Nandlall stole.

The Former AG is also seeking an injunction restraining Williams “by himself, his servants and/or agents from publishing, or caused to be published or saying or caused to be said or repeating of and concerning the Claimant, the offending statements in relation to the Commonwealth Law Reports.”
