Two remanded to jail for killing 16-yr-old

Andy Daniel Peters, 17 years old and Shannon Cox, 20 years old were today (Monday, May 08, 2017) remanded to prison for the murder of a 16-year-old boy.

The two appeared at the Georgetown Magistrates Court charged where they were with murdering 16-year-old Brian Charles two Saturdays ago (April 29, 2017) at a School fair.

Peters of 254 B, Kaneville and Cox of 261 Kaneville, East Bank Demerara (EBD) were not required to plea to the indictable charge after it was read to them by chief Magistrate Ann McLennon.

Two weeks ago, Charles a student of the Covent Garden Secondary School was stabbed while attending a concert in the Nursery School compound in that village.

The teenager of Lot 69 Public Road, Grove, EBD was attending a concert with other friends. It is alleged that there was a misunderstanding and an argument ensued, following which he was stabbed to the region of the chest by a 17-year-old school dropout. That school dropout was later identified as Peters.

Following the incident, Peters went into hiding and the police launched a manhunt for him which saw him being apprehended some hours after. On that fatal night, Yearwood reportedly died on the spot as he was pronounced dead on arrival at the Diamond hospital.
