A 58-year-old of Lot 42 Golden Grove, East Coast Demerara was found dead with wounds about his body at about 01:30hrs on Monday.
Dead is David Gentle.
Police Headquarters said Gentle was found lying motionless at Haslington North road also on the East Coast.
Reports are that the elderly man was last seen at a karaoke in Nabaclis North, two villages away.
The body was examined by an Emergency Technician (EMT) who pronounced him dead. The body is at the Jerrick Funeral Parlor awaiting post-mortem examination.
Police investigations into the alleged murder are ongoing.
