Police are on the hunt for a suspected bandit in a ‘green car’ who robbed an 18-year-old boy at Ruimzeight Public Road, West Coast Demerara on Friday morning.
Police Headquarters reported that the young man, also of Ruimzeight, was standing on the northern side of the road at around 07:00hrs waiting on transportation to go to work.
It is alleged that the suspect drove up alongside him in a green car (registration number unknown) and as the teenager entered the front passenger seat, the driver pointed a knife at him.
The young man was robbed of a backpack valued at $5,000, a wallet valued at $6,500 and $20,000 in cash. The victim exited the car and the suspect drove away in an eastern direction.
