Driver injured in Mon Repos accident

The car involved in the accident

The driver of motorcar, PVV 8920 was rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital following an accident at Mon Repos, East Coast Demerara on Saturday evening.

According to information reaching the News Room, the car which was heading east along the carriageway, reportedly without any lights, clipped the back of minibus, BPP 9952 which was heading in the same direction.

Blood from the driver splattered on the roadway

The impact caused the car to flip several times before coming to a halt. The driver had to be pulled from the mangled car by public spirited citizens. He was rushed to the hospital in a police pickup. It is unclear if he sustained any life threatening injuries but the evidence on the roadway suggested that he lost a lot of blood.
