A 32-year-old Venezuelan is now missing after the boat he was traveling in developed engine problems and capsized in the Cuyuni River on Monday afternoon.
News Room understands that 32-year-old Orlando Jose Morales Rojas along with three other Venezuelans were delivering 15 drums of fuel from El Dorado, Venezuela to San Martin, Venezuela.
Reports indicate that the boat developed a problem with its engine, resulting in the vessel submerging at around 17:00hrs.
News Room was told that the other three occupants swam to safety but Rojas went under water. Guyanese police responded to the incident and took statements from the men.
