A house at Lot 77 Housing Scheme, Skeldon, Berbice has suffered several damages after a roof from a nearby pavilion was blown away amid strong winds.
The structure, consisting of zinc and wood, crashed into the front of the house, shattering the glass windows and the veranda door.
The incident occurred around 14:00hrs on Tuesday and up to press time, relevant authorities had not arrived to remove the obstruction.
Honey Hemraj, who resides there with her parents, explained that the family contacted the Guyana Power and Light Inc. (GPL) but they have not arrived to render any assistance.
News Room understands that a regional official visited the family only to inform them that they will have to wait on the utility company.
