Collin Cooper, 37, of East La Penitence appeared before Magistrate Leron Daly at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court, accused of robbing several persons at the New Year Day Jouvert party held at D’urban Park.

The construction worker pleaded not guilty to five counts of robbery with violence.

It is alleged that on January 1, 2019, at D’urban Park, Georgetown he robbed Shane Hacket of $10,000; Isaiah Moore of a $4,000 bag along with $4,000 cash; Ronaldo Danraj of a gold ring and gold chain valued $54,000; Nicko Devonish of $5,000 cash and Shevon Clarke of two gold chains worth $78,000.

He was released on $100,000 bail and is slated to return to court on February 8, 2019.

It is alleged that the victims were beaten and robbed by Cooper, who was eventually caught by public-spirited citizens and handed over to the police.
