Jacqueline Bobb, a mother of four is pleading for justice for her 31-year-old son who was murdered Sunday at Kuribrong, Region Eight.

Dead is Perion ‘Nicholas’ Bobb known as ‘Redman’ of Lot 23 Caribease Hill, Bartica, Essequibo River.

His mother told the News Room Tuesday during a telephone interview that she did not receive sufficient information on the circumstances surrounding her son’s death from the Police.

“I only hear he get shoot up and that’s all,” Jacqueline told the News Room.

“I want justice for my son. He was a nice boy…he show everyone a nice face,” the grieving mother said.

She told the News Room that she last saw her son on Thursday, April 18 when he left for the interior where he works a driver and mechanic for a man she knows as ‘shortman.’

Jacqueline said he was unsure of when her son had planned to return home.

A Police report on the incident revealed that Bobb was employed as a driver by Emanuel Jeffery, a miner of Good Hope Village, East Coast Demerara.

On the day in question, the two were shuttling dredging equipment from Kuribrong trail to the backdam when they observe a green truck proceeding in the opposite direction at a slow rate.

As such, Bobb stopped his vehicle on the left side of the trail for the truck to pass.

Jeffrey told Police that as the truck was about 20 feet away, he heard two explosions when he jumped out the pick-up and laid face down on the ground.

Contrary to media reports that one Elon Thomas of Meten-Meer-Zorg, West Coast Demerara, was abducted, the Police reported that it was actually Jeffery, who was taken by the gunmen.

Jeffrey said he heard a strange voice which ordered him to jump into the truck; he complied and entered the tray of the lorry where he saw about eight men of different ethnicity who ordered him to lay face down.

Jeffery claimed that fifteen minutes into the journey, he managed to jump off the lorry and made good his escape.

He walked back to where the pick-up was and discovered that Bobb had died.

Police said the body was found slumped over the steering wheel of the pick-up with what appears to be a bullet wound over the right side chest.

A bullet hole was also seen about five inches from the bottom of the front windshield.

Bobb was the father of a 6-year-old son.

Police said further investigations revealed that about a month ago, Bobb was involved in a quarrel with a dredge owner by the name of ‘Pak’ who had allegedly discharged some rounds in his direction.

It was also found that the ‘Pak’ and some of his workers left their camp on Sunday, reportedly with the same truck in which Jeffrey was abducted.

The body was brought out and taken to the Bartica Public Hospital where a post mortem will be conducted.
