Competitive showing for Ramdhani siblings in Alberta

Guyana’s top male and female badminton player Narayan Ramdhani and Priyanna Ramdhani over the weekend participated in the 2019-2020 ACAC (Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference) Tournament held in Alberta, Canada.

Narayan, playing for the Kings University Eagles, finished second in the Men’s Singles and fifth in the Mixed Doubles.

Priyanna, playing for the Olds College Broncos, copped third in the Women’s Singles and seventh in Mixed Doubles.

The Guyana Badminton Association said: “Both players performed very competitive and for the first time in their badminton career they played against each other instead with each other as they attend different University and College.”

Ladies Singles Priyanna Ramdhani (Olds Broncos)

Quarter-Final: defeated Connie Juang (Nait): 21-10, 21-18

Semi-Final: lost to Johnna Rymes (Concordia): 17-21, 7-21

Third Place: defeated Abby Leddis (Kings): 21-17, 21-18

Mixed Doubles: Fifth Place

Semi-Final: Narayan Ramdhani and Abby Leddis (Kings) defeated Priyanna Ramdhani and Troy Morgan (Olds): 21-15, 21-16

Final: Narayan Ramdhani and Abby Leddis (Kings) defeated Rylan Head and Jenna Kardos (Olds): 21-6, 21-9

Mixed Doubles: Seventh Place

Priyanna Ramdhani and Troy Morgan (Olds) defeated Fits Galang and Erica Jorgensen (Kings): 21-12, 21-13.
