New champion to be crowned in GFF Super 16

The semi-final line-up of the Guyana Football Federation’s year-end Super 16 competition has been decided following the last set of quarter-final games.

In the ‘final four’ games on Sunday evening at the Georgetown Football Club ground, Bourda, Fruta Conquerors will take on fellow city side Santos from 18:30h and Police will face Guyana Defence Force from 21:00h in a clash of the disciplined forces.

The winners will advance to the final on January 1, 2020, at the National Stadium, Providence, while the losing semi-finalists will clash in the third place playoff.

At the quarter-finals, Fruta Conquerors had prevailed 4-0 over Linden’s Milerock FC, Police inflicted a 2-1 defeat on Western Tigers, Guyana Defence Force had a similar margin of victory over Buxton United and Santos booted 2018 champions Den Amstel via a 3-0 win.
