Police investigating skeletal remains found in abandoned building

Police are making efforts to identify the skeletal remains of a human which was found in an abandoned two-storey building on High and Princes Street, Georgetown.

The remains were found since June 3 but the information was only released to the media on Wednesday.

Police said that a Security Guard reported by telephone that there was an obnoxious scent emanating from the building opposite his workplace.

A party of Policemen subsequently visited the scene and found the unoccupied wooden and concrete building.

The ranks then entered the building via an opened door when they made the discovery. The scene was processed and the remains were escorted to the Lyken Funeral Home.

The land is owned by a businessman of Subryanville, Georgetown.
