53-year-old woman is latest COVID-19 death

The Ministry of Health on Wednesday reported that a 53-year-old woman from Region Four died from COVID-19, taking Guyana’s death toll to 149.

The Ministry, in a statement, said the woman died while receiving medical care at a facility. She is the 23rd person to die so far this month.

The Ministry also officially confirmed the death of 69-year-old Rudolph Williams, the deputy mayor of Anna Regina, Region Two. The father of seven, of Hampton Court, Essequibo Coast, died Tuesday afternoon in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at the Georgetown Public Hospital.
