76 new COVID-19 cases from 853 tests

The Ministry of Health reported on Friday, that Guyana recorded a total of 76 new COVID-19 cases, taking the overall cases to 9,069.

A total of 853 tests were conducted and positive COVID-19 results came from eight of the ten Administrative Regions.

Regions Seven and One recorded one new case each, while Regions Eight and Five both recorded eight news cases. Region Nine recorded seven new cases, Region Ten recorded three and Region Two recorded two new cases. The majority of new COVID-19 positive cases came from Region Four, which recorded 46 new cases.

To date, 8,265 persons have recovered, with Guyana’s total number of deaths still standing at 206.

There are 562 patients in home isolation, 30 patients are in institutional isolation and six patients are in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit at the Infectious Disease Hospital.
