A search conducted by the Guyana Police Force and the Guyana Prison Service on Thursday between 06:00h to 08:00h at the Lusignan Prison and quarantine area unearthed a number of items that have since been confiscated.
Police in a statement said the items were taken to the Vigilance Police Station.
Below is the list of items that were found:
17 improvised weapons
4 metal spoons
1 cellular phone
1 memory card
10 lighters
2 pieces of broken mirrors
3 cellular phone chargers
1 earpiece
6 bottles of fermented wine
144 packets and a quantity of leaves, seeds and stems which amounted to 125 grams of suspected cannabis.
18 cigarettes
