Another COVID death takes April’s toll to 44

Another person who tested positive for COVID-19 has died, taking Guyana’s death toll since March 2020 to 277.

The latest fatality is one 76-year-old male from Region 4 (Demerara-Mahaica) who died while receiving care at a medical facility on April 21, 2021.

Two others also died the same day. This takes the death toll for April to 44, making it one of the deadliest months for COVID-19 here since the pandemic hit these shores.

In March 2021, a total of 36 patients died while in October 2020, 44 persons succumbed to the disease.
