A woman was Monday morning stabbed to death by her ex-lover at her No. 47 Village, East Berbice Corentyne home.
Regional Commander, Assistant Commissioner Boodnarine Persaud confirmed the fatal stabbing but said her identity was not confirmed.
The News Room was subsequently informed by a police source that the man who is from Canje, Berbice visited the woman’s home Monday morning.
Police could not say what led to the stabbing but a probe has been launched and a manhunt is underway for the suspect.
The man reportedly fled the scene in a car after committing the act.
