Guyana’s premier squash player, Nicolette Fernandes, added another gold to her collection of titles by winning the women’s 35+ division at the World Masters Squash Championship in Poland.
Fernandes needed to win her final match in the round-robin, and she did so quite convincingly by defeating South African Slyoli Waters 11-6, 11-5, 11-5.
She is now the only Guyanese to win a World Masters squash title.
More so, Guyana’s Richard Chin, competing at his third World Masters got bronze after he topped Christian Borgvall of Sweden 12-14 11-8 11-7 8-11 11-6 in the men’s 50+ category.
