Police officers in Region Six are currently at the Eversham foreshore, Corentyne, Berbice, conducting investigations following the discovery of what appeared to be human skeletal remains.
Officer Nedd in charge of crime in Berbice confirmed the discovery.
Meanwhile, a police source confirmed with News Room that the discovery was made by a resident of the area this morning. The resident upon making the discovery alerted other residents and the police were subsequently contacted.
The News Room was told that the resident, who is a farmer, noticed crows circling and feasting at a particular section of the shore. Closer inspection by the man that revealed the grisly image.
The body was in an extensive state of decomposition, but was attired in clothing that was damaged and torn.
An investigation is currently underway.
