Man arrested after cop sniffs ganja on minibus
Police have arrested a 26-year-old minibus passenger after a cop travelling in the same vehicle received “a high scent of marijuana”.
Police Headquarters reported that the passenger, Earl Vanlewin, a miner of Moruca, Region One was found with 6,764 grams (14.9 lbs) of marijuana when the minibus stopped along the Mahaicony Public Road.
The incident occurred on Saturday morning. It was the police rank who stopped the vehicle and conducted a search.
Four wrapped parcels of marijuana were discovered in the suspect’s luggage.
The suspect, when told of the offence, said he collected the two bags from a man in Rosignol and he was taking the bags to a man in Georgetown.
