Police in West Coast Berbice are investigating the alleged murder of an 85-year-old woman, who was found dead in her home on her birthday on Monday.
Dead is Sumintra Shaw called “Aunty Betty” of Bushlot, West Coast Berbice.
She would have been celebrating her 85th birthday today.
The News Room understands that the Police are investigating the case as a robbery/murder; however, sources at the location indicated nothing was stolen.
Shaw was found sometime around 05:00 hrs with multiple stab wounds; the discovery was made by her a relative who served as the woman’s caretaker and would stay over at nights.
Investigations are ongoing as Police are canvassing the area for CCTV footage.

How gruesome and dastardly. What could that poor woman have done to someone to suffer such a horrible demise abd on her birthday at that. It has to be someone who is well acquainted with her. I do hope that the perpetrator/perpetrators would be arrested as soon as possible. Justice has got to be vserved. Msy her soul rest in peace.
