An 84-year-old man from Region Six (East Berbice- Corentyne) died on February 1, after he was infected with the novel coronavirus that causes the disease, COVID-19.
This is according to information released by the Ministry of Health on Tuesday. The man’s vaccination status is unknown.
Meanwhile, the ministry reported that another 19 people were infected with COVID-19 since February 3, when the last update was given.
That means a total of 73,003 people have been infected since March 2020. Of that sum, 71,618 people recovered and 1,296 people died.
Additionally, there are seven people in institutional isolation, 81 people in home isolation and two persons in institutional quarantine.
