Police are investigating the death of two-month-old Allison Ram, who was discovered dead on a chair at her Agatash Village, Region Seven house on Wednesday.
According to a Police report, the infant’s 17-year-old mother left her lying in a chair, wrapped in a sheet, at around 14:30 hrs.
Police said the young mother left and went to use the washroom situated about 20 meters away. Upon her return some ten minutes later, the teenage mother discovered the baby motionless in the chair.
She was rushed to the Agatash Health Center, where she was examined by a medic who then referred her to the Bartica Regional Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
According to the Police, the infant’s body was checked and there were no visible marks of violence. The body is at the hospital mortuary awaiting a post-mortem examination.
