Anwar Sukhnandan, a resident of Johanna Cecilia on the Essequibo Coast, Region Two (Pomeroon- Supenaam), was shot to his leg during a supermarket robbery Sunday night.
The News Room understands that four masked men entered the Good Life Supermarket at Johanna Cecilia on Sunday. They were reportedly armed with guns and demanded cash from the cashier.
One man was outside while the three others were inside with the customers present. Sukhnandan, a customer, was shot during the robbery. Another customer was reportedly beaten when he tried to flee.
The men carted off with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Police investigations are ongoing.
