Ranks of the Customs Anti-Narcotic Unit (CANU) on Tuesday found an unlicensed 12-guage shotgun and five matching rounds of ammunition at East Ruimvedlt, Georgetown.
In a brief statement, CANU said the items were in a bulky salt bag which was allegedly dropped by a man after he noticed the law enforcement officers.
CANU said the discovery was made during an operation.
“Upon seeing the CANU Officers, the male dropped the said bag and made good his escape,” CANU said.
The firearm and ammunition were taken to CANU’s headquarters as investigations continue.
