Guyanese Chamber of Commerce now operational in the Dominican Republic

A Guyanese Chamber of Commerce is now operational in the Dominican Republic (DR) to support the work the Dominican Chamber of Commerce in Guyana is doing.

It stands as a dedicated recommitment to the promoting and strengthening of commercial, cultural, technological, and educational exchange between both nations.

This formal establishment of the Chamber was announced on the Facebook page of the Chamber – Guyanachamdr – and is said to represent a landmark action that will set trends in economic and business development for both nations.

“Today with great emotion, we announce the official opening of the Guyanese Chamber of Commerce in the Dominican Republic. This formal meeting represents a milestone that will set the tone for the economic and business development of both nations.

“This move strengthens trade ties and creates a platform for growth in Guyana and the Dominican Republic,” the statement noted.

The purpose of the Chamber of Commerce is to promote key sectors such as agriculture, tourism, oil and energy. The team said they aspire to be a catalyst for economic progress in both nations, fostering collaboration and creating opportunities for sustainable development.

The Board of Directors of GuyanaChamDR met last Friday before the launch to address the visions, strategies and definition of the future of the commitment.

Miguel Angel González is the President of the Dominican Guyana Chamber of Commerce and is hailed as a visionary leader in promoting economic development and creating new business opportunities between Guyana and the DR.

He boasts solid experience in mergers and acquisitions, both in the private and governmental spheres and a 15-year track record in the real estate market.

Other Executive/ Directors include: Leonida M. Foo, President of the Dominican Guyana Association and Trade Specialist at the Embassy of the Dominican Republic; Rolando Gonzalez-Bunster, Chairman of Interenergy; Erik Alma, Head of Haina International Terminals, the nation’s largest multi-purpose port; Isabel Puig, certified Internal Auditor in 5 ISO and Sustainability Standards; Ramon A. Cáceres Guzman who will serve as Secretary and Jose Ramón Martinez Pineda who will serve as Treasurer.
