A fire on Thursday afternoon completely destroyed a house on William Street, Kitty, Georgetown. The News Room understands that the house was owned by Sports Journalist Rawle Welch. A woman who lived in the house suffered minor burns and was taken to the hospital.
While the Guyana Fire Service arrived promptly on the scene, they were unable to save the house.
A second house that caught fire was saved.
