9.2% increase in tourist arrivals for first five months
The Guyana Tourism Authority (GTA) has recorded a 9.2% increase in visitors to Guyana during the first five months this year.
In a statement Wednesday the GTA said, “Visitors from the Caribbean account for 49.4%, while those from the United States and Canada account for 31.1% and 7.1% respectively.”
During the period from January to May 2019 the country has seen a total of 122, 967 visitors as compared to the same period in 2018 which saw 112, 578 persons visiting the country.
