Rosignol man critical after being chopped by his brother

A Rosignol West Coast Berbice man is presently in police custody pending charges after he dealt his brother several chops about his body following an argument while they were both consuming alcohol on yesterday October 24, 2016.

 

News Room understands that the suspect, 57 –year- old Rajesh Deonarine of lot 126 Edward Street Rosignol and his brother 45- year -old cane cutter Suresh Deonarine of the aforementioned address were consuming alcohol at their home when an argument ensued about Rajesh abusing their mother.

 

According to information received, during the heated argument, Rajesh picked up a cutlass and lashed Suresh to his head. Suresh, in retaliation took away the weapon and dealt his brother a chop to his hand and two chops to his head.

 

Rajesh collapsed and was picked up and rushed to the Fort Wellington Public Hospital for medical treatment but had to be transferred to the New Amsterdam Public Hospital, where he was treated and admitted as a patient and his condition listed as critical.

 

After the police were called in, Suresh was arrested and taken to the Blairmont Police Station where he is presently awaiting charges.

 

Further investigations into the matter are ongoing.
