A mining pit owned and operated by Troy Resources Guyana Inc. in Region Seven on Monday night collapsed, causing the death of a miner.
The News Room understands that the miner, Ryan Taylor of Alberttown, Georgetown was pinned under the dirt. His body was recovered hours later.
Commander Kevin Adonis told the News Room that they received the report about the incident and ranks are flying into the community to investigate.
