A 20-year-old man identified as Chris Persaud of Strathspey, East Coast Demerara was stabbed to death by bandits during a robbery on Friday afternoon.
The News Room understands that Persaud, along with his family, operated an electronics store – Deals on Electronics. He was stabbed to the neck and died on the way to the Georgetown Public Hospital.
The young man’s father said his son was alone in the store when the bandits invaded and attacked him. It is unclear at this time if the bandits were able to cart off anything, however, the father said security cameras will be reviewed to find out what exactly happened.
Investigators are currently on the ground. The News Room will provide more details in a subsequent report.
