A 61-year-old Cashier employed by Puran Brothers Incorporated was on Wednesday morning robbed of cash and cheques belonging to the company.
According to information received, Kuarsingh Ramdass, was on his way to deposit the money at a bank at Vreed-en-hoop – a task he performs daily – when his car was blocked off by a Toyota 212 bearing registration number HC 7691 at Bella Dam, Pouderoyen at about 10:20hrs.
News Room understands that two armed men exited the Toyota 212 car and rushed to the cashier’s vehicle; one of them hit the window of the passenger side and grabbed the bag with the cash and cheques.
The suspects fled in the waiting car towards the direction of the Demerara Harbour Bridge. The police have not been able to locate the car nor has anyone been arrested.
