GPL leaves wires hanging in Meten-Meer-Zorg
It has been almost two weeks since a maintenance crew from the Guyana Power and Light Inc. (GPL) left electrical wires hanging halfway down utility poles in Meten-Meer-Zorg on the West Coast of Demerara (WCD) and residents are fuming.
The cables are dangling in front of a popular salon and barbershop and pose a serious threat.
News Room was told that numerous reports were made to GPL and a crew that visited the site told residents to use a wood and “jack” up the wires.
Residents are calling on GPL to treat the matter more seriously and with urgency before the situation escalates to a point where there are injuries or casualties.
