An armed security on duty at the Regency Hotel located on Hadfield Street, Georgetown is in a critical condition at a private hospital after he was shot in the abdomen by gunmen who attempted to rob the hotel at about 22:45hrs on Friday night.
Police Headquarters said that two gunmen discharged several rounds at the security guard, who managed to fire back at them.
Police did not disclose further details and investigations are ongoing.
