An eight-year-old boy witnessed his step-father being stabbed to death Friday at about 17:30hrs at their home in Mabaruma, North West District, a resident told the News Room.
Colin Campbell was stabbed once to the heart with a knife by his wife. He died instantly.
Campbell and his wife operated a bar in Mabaruma called “The Golden Hole”. The couple had no children together but has several children from previous relationships.
A resident told the News Room that the couple had an argument after Campbell was seen talking with some “Spanish women” and his wife subsequently stabbed him. The News Room understands that Campbell held up a plastic chair in defense but his wife managed to stab him through the chair.
She stabbed him to the region of the heart and collapsed and died on the spot.
The News Room understands that the woman has been arrested and is in police custody.
Police also recovered the murder weapon.
