President Irfaan Ali on Wednesday attended the funeral service of Haresh Singh, the 17-yearold who was killed at Number 3 Village, West Coast Berbice during violent protests against the murders of Joel and Isaiah Henry.
Singh’s funeral was held at the Persaud’s Funeral Home, New Amsterdam. The Head of State expressed deepest condolences to the family members gathered. Also in attendance was the Region 6 Chairman, David Armogan and other regional officials.
A post-mortem showed Singh died of brain haemorrhage and blunt trauma to the head compounded by compression injuries to the neck.
Singh was related to the persons who were initially taken into custody to assist Police in the investigations into the murder of the Henry boys.
He was beaten to death while in the backdam to take water for others on the morning of September 9.
