Baramita woman stabbed by drinking partner
A Baramita woman, 25-year-old Joanna John, is currently a patient at the Baramita Health Centre after she was stabbed several times with a broken bottle by another female she was imbibing with.
Police said John and another 25-year-old woman, both of Barama Line, North West District, were consuming alcohol at a shop on Friday night.
At about 21:50h, an argument ensued and the suspect allegedly armed herself with a broken bottle and stabbed John several times.
As a result, John collapsed to the ground and was in a semi-conscious state bleeding profusely.
The police were summoned and she was taken to the Baramita Health Centre where she was seen and examined by the resident Medex and later admitted for observation.
The suspect was arrested by the police and is in custody.
