Police are investigating the armed robbery of two employees of Massy Distribution, which occurred on Saturday morning at Grove, East Bank Demerara,
Police Headquarters in a statement noted that Rondell Downes and Lorenzo Sewchand were conducting sales at Matthew’s Shop, Grove, at around 09:20hrs when they observed two males, one armed with a gun, walking towards them.
The perpetrators went up to the victims and the armed suspect pointed the said handgun towards them and told them not to move or he was going to shoot them; they demanded the victims’ properties.
Downes was robbed of a black Samsung Galaxy cell phone valued at $26,000 and $51,184 cash (the property of Massy) while Sewchand was robbed of $300.
The perpetrators then escaped on foot into Kaneville.
