Two suspects arrested over murder of pastry driver

Two suspects have been arrested in connection with the murder of Shawn ‘Dexter’ Albert, a pastry driver of Lins Bakery, who was shot to the chest while attempting to escape from two armed bandits at Onderneeming, Sand Pitt, Essequibo Coast, on August 29.

According to a police report, an informant contacted two officers at the Anna Regina Police Station, stating that he has information about location of two suspects who were involved in the murder of Albert.

As a result, it was reported that the regional police commander was informed and she instructed that an operation be launched in order to apprehend the two suspects.

Acting upon the information, on Wednesday at around 02:00hrs, police officers arrested the two suspects. One of the suspects is reportedly known to the police and was previously charged with robbery.

After their arrest, the two men were questioned. They reportedly denied their involvement in the murder of Albert. They also gave separate accounts of their location at the time of Albert’s death.

Police said that investigators are currently examining the alibis provided by the suspects.
