Engaging Sport Conference slated for October 2

The Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport will host a Sport Conference on October 2, aimed at engaging all of the Associations/Federations to share ideas on how to move the sport forward in Guyana.

Sport Minister Charles Ramson Jr. recently shared some details about the event, which he said will become an annual fixture.

Ramson Jr. explained that one of the objectives will be an informational and consultative process for the Sports Academy, which will be launched in early November.

The Minister re-emphasised these academics are important to achieving international success and talent development.

The second objective stemmed from him noticing that most Associations/Federations were not interacting with each other and sharing useful tools for success.

“I realised there was a lot of stored success stories, procedures and methods that they have been using, but not all have been using and that is why the Sport Conference is going to be tailored to a panel-driven outfit.”

According to the Minister, now that there is a greater investment, he expects that Associations/Federations become more professional in how they conduct their business.
