Fatal Plaisance accident: File to be sent for legal advice

The police on the East Coast of Demerara have completed the investigation into the accident which claimed the life of 29-year-old Ronaldo Saul-Drepaul, a security officer, on April 23 on the Plaisance Public Road.

Head of the Police Communications Unit Mark Ramotar, in a brief statement, said the file will be sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions for legal advice.

Saul-Drepaul of Venezuela Scheme, Melanie, ECD, died at the Woodlands Hospital in Georgetown three days after the accident.

Police had reported that the accident occurred at about 18:55 hrs and involved motorcar PPP 6446 which was being driven by Jai Kissoon, a 39-year-old Economic Consultant of Bel Air Park, Georgetown.

According to the police report, Saul-Drepaul was driving motorcycle CL 902 west along the southern driving lane when the car drove out of Prince William Street onto the road and into the path of the motorcycle.

The driver of the car was arrested and later placed on $300,000 station bail.
